John Lennon

Pretty Green was built around a certain idea of British identity. Music, working-class cool, style that doesn't try too hard. When the label collaborated with the John Lennon estate on an anniversary collection, the clothes needed to carry that weight without the imagery getting in the way.

We shot on a combination of film and digital, and the film contact sheets made it into the final edit. They brought a texture and sense of time that nothing digital could replicate. At the centre of the set sat a piano, a quiet nod to the man the whole thing was built around.
